Studying for the AP World History exam…?
Like I said, I have a bunch of questions
How do I pick something to blog about? – I have alot of interests, but I’m not sure what to commit to that alot of people would read.
What do I name my blog? – Obviously something creative and off-the-wall, but what?
What qualifies as a bloggable event?
What’s your favorite blogging website?
Out of my interests (listed below), what do you think would get more readers?
I’m a seventeen year old junior girl interested in:
-advice columns, indie rock music, fashion, vintage fashion, current events, thrift, interior design, photography, food, DIY, crafty things, art (I’m an artist, but it would be boring to just post my pieces online), books, movies
NOT interested in: politics, celebrity gossip, book/movie reviews
That’s all I have for now, but feel free to add any other advice. Thanks so much!
A bunch of questions about blogging; how do I start my first blog?
I’m looking through my Princeton Review book for the GRE, and it resembles the Old SAT (before the 2005 reforms), with analogies, sentence completions, etc.
Also, isn’t it true that the highest GRE score is (just like the Old SAT) a 1600?
So what’s the difference between these tests?
Is the GRE just like the Old SAT?
i am thinking of reading it for English, but wanted some peoples reviews on the book first. can you help?
i want to know about the book “White Fang”?
Thanks!@Hey, what do you need enlightening about? There’s an eighth book in the Alex Rider series, by Anthony Horowitz, called “Crocodile Tears”.
What is your opinion on the eighth Alex Rider novel “Crocodile Tears”?
Or does anyone know if it is similar in quality to the pc one enough to be worth a purchase? My computer died and I use a mac book pro for work, is it worth buying?
Where can I find a review of Rome: Total War on the Mac?
I really like them both but Ive heard mixed reviews about them.
whos your favourite character?
What do people think of the Twlight books and films?
I took the SAT for the first time in October of my junior year, and didn’t really take it all that seriously, which was a mistake (I didn’t study or take classes). I ended up scoring a 1950 (670 on math and reading, 610 on writing).
I’m planning on retaking the test in October of my senior year, and studying through the summer (online guides/review books). Would it be possible to raise my score to a 2300 or better?
Is it possible to raise my SAT score by 350 points?
I am relatively new to web development and have begun to learn HTML and CSS as they are essential languages for web design. I also want to move into a bit of scripting i.e. JavaScript, PHP, ASP.NET and whatnot and have seen and read a bit about jQuery on various forums.
I know that it is a JavaScript library that can produce some pretty decent effects and functionality so I want to know, is it worth learning? I have seen a book on Amazon jQuery: Visual QuickStart guide and it has some good reviews and am thinking about getting it.
Is jQuery good in your opinion? and is it worth learning?
Thanks for your answers in advance, they will be appreciated.
Is jQuery worth learning?
Quoted answer from a JW who, I will not name, but is just a little ray of Sunshine;
“Jehovah’s Witnesses have never claimed to be prophets and thus like the early apostles and first century christians will correct inaccuracies in understanding if and when God reveals that such is necessary.”
An interesting statement when you consider the publication was reproduced for her to re-read. I assume she knows all about the history of the JW’s as she has stated that “Jehovah’s Witnesses have never claimed to be prophets”. Therefore she is fully aware of the full history of her sect.
I can understand her point, they (the prophets) must wait until God realizes he has made a mistake and then tell them and they then have to make another change. Wouldn’t it be good if God could get it right first time?
Publication in question;
(The Watchtower, July 1, 1973,
“Consider, too, the fact that Jehovah’s organization alone, in all the earth, is directed by God’s holy spirit or active force. (Zech. 4:6) Only this organization functions for Jehovah’s purpose and to his praise. To it alone God’s Sacred Word, the Bible, is not a sealed book. Many persons of the world are very intelligent, capable of understanding complex matters. They can read the Holy Scriptures, but they cannot understand their deep meaning. Yet God’s people can comprehend such spiritual things. Why? Not because of special intelligence on their part, but as the apostle Paul declared: “For it is to us God has revealed them through his spirit, for the spirit searches into all things, even the deep things of God.” (1 Cor. 2:10) Jesus Christ praised his heavenly Father for ‘hiding such things from the wise and intellectual ones but revealing them to babes.’ (Matt. 11:25) How very much true Christians appreciate associating with the only organization on earth that understands the ‘deep things of God!’”)
Another one for you…….
The Nations Shall Know That I Am Jehovah, 1971 ed., p. 70-71
“At the time, they might not view or appreciate him as a prophet of Jehovah. But whether they heard him as such or refrained from hearing and paying attention to him, the occasion was to come when these rebellious people would ‘know also that a prophet himself happened to be in the midst of them.’ Jehovah would confirm him as a prophet before them by causing what Ezekiel prophesied to come true…Likewise it was a trying mission upon which the modern Ezekiel class was sent, to religious people of the same type as those in Ezekiel’s day. But regardless of how Christendom views or regards this group of anointed witnesses of Jehovah, the time must come, and that shortly, when those making up Christendom will know that really a ‘prophet’ of Jehovah was among them…Since the year 1919 C.E. the anointed remnant of Jehovah’s witnesses have found it to be just like that as they have spoken fearlessly the word of Jehovah in the midst of Christendom.”
and another………….
The Watchtower, April 1, 1972,
“So, does Jehovah have a prophet to help them, to warn them of dangers and to declare things to come?…These questions can be answered in the affirmative. Who is this prophet?…This ‘prophet’ was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah’s Christian witnesses…Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a ‘prophet’ of God. It is another thing to prove it. The only way that this can be done is to review the record. What does it show?”
Why Don’t JW’s believe some of their own publications but believe others?
Have been thinking of getting an eBook reader for a while, and after extensive shopping around am still unsure as to what the best one would be. It has to be able to play PDF’s and ePub’s, and be available in the UK. Price is irrelevant.
Here are a few of my thoughts on the main ones:
I like the touchscreen on the Sony – but they’re constantly bringing out new ones.
I like the look of the Barnes and Noble Nook – but software reviews are coming up disappointing.
I like the wireless feature of the Kindle – but I DO NOT like the idea of having to get all my books from Amazon.
I like the value for money offered by the iRiver – but PDF support is glitch and as most of my eBook collection is made up of PDF’s, this is not acceptable.
I like the bright, fresh design of the Cool-Er – but the reviews are terrible.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for me to look at? Links would be great, but I can always google if not
Thanks in advance.
