OK, the movie had groundbreaking CGI. I'll accept that. It was fun to watch and, for all extensive purposes, it was entertaining.
But the highest grossing movie of all time? Best Picture at the Golden Globes in comparison to Inglourious Basterds, Up in the Air, and Hurt Locker?
Sorry, but this movie is not THAT great. It's just Disney's Pocahontas with giant Smurfs.

I haven't seen Avatar yet and I wouldn't be writing this if I wasn't considering seeing it still. So, here's me: I do not like special effects, science fiction or fantasy movies. I like reality, show me a movie with fighting, suspense or something to laugh at. Just s-o-m-e-t-h-i-n-g r-e-a-l. Are there people out there like me who actually DIDN'T like Avatar? Make-up artists, plastic modelers, tailors, hairdressers, robot mechanics, stand in for actors…
that's just a few professions in film making…there are many, many more professions that employs thousand and thousands of people for just one movie. And, even the professions that were still used for this movie only employed 25% from what a normal movie uses like the Camera People and Crane operators.
Is now the king of the "Box Office" and Hollywood is not going to ignore how a movie that only cost half of what a normal movie cost to make can make so much money and not care that millions and millions of people will be left unemployed.————————
